The United States of America is in its death throes.
Oh, it has nothing to do with which candidate won tonight’s election, or who one four years ago. No, America’s fate was sealed decades ago. No, that’s wrong. Our nation’s fate wasn’t sealed for it: the US sealed its own fate.
The US died when we, We the People, traded away our sacred honor for sacred entitlements. We have whored ourselves out to the politicians, selling them our allegiance, our loyalty in exchange for government handouts. It doesn’t matter what a candidate believes anymore, so long as they give us what we “deserve.”
Now look at us: $16 trillion in debt, an amount that will only increase. And there’s no way we can reverse it. It’s political suicide: the minute someone mention’s budget cuts, the voters go into a frenzy. “Don’t you dare cut my healthcare/food stamps/housing/cell phone/whatever.” And if a politican presses on, they are voted out of office and replaced with someone that will keep the gravy train rolling.
And who’s paying for it all? Us. We the people. At least the ones who work for a living and pay taxes. But here’s the problem: the country is spending far more than it takes in. Hence the $16,000,000,000 debt. Sooner or later, the money’s gonna run out. Sooner or later, our creditors are going to say “pay up.” And then what?
I’ll be straight with you: I can’t predict the future. But I know this: when the money runs out, things are going to be bad. Very, very, very bad. And guess what? We will have no one to blame but ourselves.
We the People built this great nation, and We the People have also driven it to ruin.
