Writer’s Block Stinks

Now that MHI: Northeast is finished (I’m still posting chapters, don’t worry), I’ve turned my efforts to a new, original idea. I’m hoping to have at least the first draft finished by the time school starts up again in the fall. It’s a really cool idea (not just me saying this: blogbro Tim and a couple others have heard the basic idea and they think it’s pretty sweet), but there’s only one problem.

I can’t get into it.

No matter how hard I try, I just can’t get into the idea. I can’t make it flow. I can’t get it from my head onto the page. Actually, scratch that last bit: I can’t even form it coherently in my head.

This is very unusual. Normally I’ll start strong on an idea only to peter out halfway through. I can’t remember ever not even being able to get an idea together before. This is not good. Not good at all…

Ah, what the heck. I’ve got a couple of other ideas, and that novel that I’ve been working on in one form or another since forever. Maybe I’ll try one of those…

  1. Been there done that got the t-shirt.

So when I get stuck on something I either just drop everything and come back later, or I write something completely different.

Like right now, I got tired of Alone 2 so I started writing a Firefly fan fiction.
